Recipe for Obatzda

Obatzda is a traditional bavarian cheese spread. It counts as typical biergarten food. It's made by mixing two thirds of soft cheese with butter. The recipe goes:

—250 g Camembert

—1 Tbsp Butter

—1 Onion, finely chopped





—4 Tbsp Beer

Preparation: Smash the Camembert with a fork. Whip the butter and mix it with the onion and the Camembert. Season it with salt, pepper, Paprika and with caraway. Mix it with the beer until it's turned into a smooth cream. Let it rest for one hour.
